New courses offered at Colorado State University!
Five new courses have been developed for Colorado State Univeristy's Electrical and Computer Engineering department. These courses have been added to the department's curriculm in the area of accelerators and beams.
These courses, their prerequisites, and descriptions are:
Accelerator Engineering
- Prerequisite: ECE 342 or PH 351.
- Description: Development and uses of accelerators and storage rings. Principles of electric and magnetic fields used to bend, focus, and accelerate charged particles.
Advanced Accelerator Engineering
- Prerequisite: ECE 342 or PH 351.
- Description: Advanced concepts in particle beam accelerator technology and engineering, linear accelerators and principles of intense pulsed electron ion beams.
Microwave and Beam Instrumentation
- Lecture and Lab, 500-level
- Prerequisite: ECE 342 or PH 351.
- Description: Particle beam instrumentation, microwave measurements and magnetic measurements used in the design and diagnoses of charged particle beam accelerator.
Synchrotron Radiation, Free-electron Lasers, and X-ray Optics
- Lecture and Lab, 600-level
- Prerequisite: ECE 341 or ECE 342 or PH 351.
- Description: Engineering of synchrotron radiation and free-electron laser sources as well as the optics to deliver light beam to users.
Pulsed Power and Intense Beams
