Nihan Kandemir Sipahi got her bachelor degree from Department of Engineering Physics in 2010 from Ankara University, Turkey which is one of the NATO Nations. During third year of her bachelor studies, she studied in Physics Department of Umea University as an Erasmus exchange student in 2007. Furthermore, she completed her undergraduate internship about Photomultiplier Tubes and general concept of Free Electron Lasers in UV range at MAX-lab accelerator laboratory, Sweden. After graduating, she continued her master studies about the defining Equivalent Circuit Properties and Quality Factor Reentrant Klystron Cavities with using SUPERFISH code in Ankara University. She gave a graduate seminar that is mainly about the physics and properties of Undulator Magnets. During her master studies, to get more experiences about the accelerators, she attended many popular accelerator schools such as UXSS’10 at SLAC, IDMAX’10 at MAX-lab, JAS’11 in Erice, Italy and JUAS’12 at CERN, and studied about Undulator Magnets at SLAC. She has also completed graduate internship about RF cavity measurement with the 1500 MHz pillbox type Landau cavity in MAX-II ring at MAX-lab. Now, she is a PhD student and working on Novel Seeding FELs which is mainly about seeding free-electron lasers (FELs) and enable continuous tunability independent of the possibly fixed seed laser wavelength. During this study, she is using ELEGANT accelerator code for simulating the particles through the accelerator and magnetic structures. Moreover, she is also working on CSU ABL facility high power RF transmission line (waveguides), LLRF system and the adaptation of cathode bake-out heater to the CSU system.

She is the author and co-author in several papers.
