Lucas Kang will be completing his senior year of high school at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia. Lucas' interest in physics, math, and programming has inspired him to take initiative in several extra-curricular actives, including math and robotics competitions, membership in National Honors Society, and several awards for academic excellence.

Lucas Kang has been reognized for many achievements, some of which are listed below.

• First Place Robot, local BotBall robotics challenge (2012)
• Lead programmer for the soft-physics laboratory at the University of Chicago (2011)
• First Place Robot, school's technology robotics challenge (2011)
• First Place Team in Design and Presentation for FLL Robotics (2009, 2010)
